Since Urban Acres was founded in 2015, giving back to the local community has been one of our core values and guiding forces. We’re REALTORS® by training, but at our core, we’re part of the fabric of the community. It’s about more than buying and selling homes—it’s about investing in the places we call home.

Most of our agents were born and raised within 30 miles of Iowa City. Our support of the community runs deep, whether we’re serving on the PTO, coaching sports, volunteering on a nonprofit board, or raising funds for a local cause. Each Urban employee receives 12 hours of paid time to volunteer each year.

Community matters, and we love surrounding ourselves with the people and organizations who share our passion for giving back. It’s why you’ll find us everywhere, up and down the Corridor.

You’ll see us out and about in the local community all year long. We regularly sponsor events including the Free Movie Series through Summer of the Arts, which hosts free arts and cultural entertainment in Iowa City throughout the summer.

We also love surprising the deserving members of our community with random acts of kindness—like when we gave away $5,000 in gas to random drivers, and when we provide a Thanksgiving meal to a family in need during the holiday season every year.

Many of our agents are involved in local and national non-profit professional organizations, where they give back to the industry, elevate the real estate profession, and make our community stronger. The organizations also regularly sponsor local events that allow our agents to volunteer their time and talents throughout the year.
