Many locals reach out to Sandi Spurrell for her photography skills to capture happy moments they can look back on for years to come. These display cheerful grins and silly faces to share with others and send out on holiday cards. While these sessions are filled with lots of laughter, Sandi also shoots sessions with the opposite mood and emotions. For some parents, Sandi’s photos act as a remembrance of their baby they never got to take home.
Sandi partners with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) and donates her time and talent to capture the few precious moments parents have with their baby. They are gifted black and white portraits to help heal, give hope, and honor the precious life lost. It is never easy to lose a child, and these photos help parents and families cherish and acknowledge the life of their beautiful baby.
Though the grief is difficult to approach, Sandi does an incredible job of being professional and empathetic when working with the grieving parents. NILMDTS photographers are able to preserve the sweet, short life of their child through photos they will have to look back on.
NILMDTS recruits and trains photographers like Sandi to give this gift, and the task is not easy. Sandi is able to read the room, full of emotions, and guide the fragile parents with gentleness to make sure they have an abundance of photos of their baby. Her kindness and photography skills enable her to help and comfort the families she works with.
