• How long does it take to tint a car?

  For a standard sedan or SUV, a full tint job typically takes between 2 to 4 hours. We don't rush. Rushing leads to dust contamination and crooked lines. We want it perfect the first time. You can drop your car off at our shop in East Moline, IL, and we'll call you as soon as it's ready to roll. 

• Can I roll my windows down right away? 

  No. This is the hardest part. You need to wait at least 3 to 5 days before rolling your windows down. The film needs time to cure and adhere to the glass. If you roll them down too soon, the film can peel up at the bottom, and nobody wants that. We usually put a piece of tape over your window switches as a friendly reminder.

• Why do I see little haziness or bubbles right after installation?

  Don't panic. This is normal. It’s just moisture trapped between the glass and the film. As the film cures and the water evaporates, the haziness will clear up and the tiny water pockets will disappear. It can take a few days to a few weeks depending on the weather in East Moline (cold weather slows down the curing process).

• Does tint go on the inside or outside?

  Window tint is always applied to the inside of the glass. We shrink the film on the outside to get the shape right, but the actual installation happens on the interior surface. This protects the film from road debris, car washes, and weather.

• How do I clean my tinted windows?

  Wait about a week after installation to clean them. When you do, avoid cleaners with ammonia (like the blue Windex). Ammonia eats away at the film over time. • Will the tint interfere with my GPS or cell signal?

  Not if you choose the right film. Old-school metallic films used to cause signal issues. We use modern carbon and ceramic films that are non-metallic, meaning they won't mess with your navigation, radio, or cell phone reception. You get all the heat rejection without the tech headaches.

• How long does a vinyl wrap last? 

  A high-quality wrap typically lasts between 5 to 7 years. This depends heavily on how you treat it. If you park it in a garage, it will last longer. If you leave it under a tree where birds use it for target practice, it won't last as long. Horizontal surfaces like the hood and roof usually take the most beating from the sun.

• Will the wrap damage my paint? 

  No, provided your paint was in good condition to begin with. The adhesive is designed to be safe for factory clear coats. In fact, it protects the paint. However, if your car has peeling clear coat, rust, or a cheap aftermarket paint job, removing the wrap could pull up some paint. We will inspect your car in East Moline, IL before we start and let you know if we see any risks.

• Can I wash my wrapped car?

  Yes, but you need to be gentle. Hand washing is best. You can use a pressure washer, but keep the pressure low and stand back a few feet. Avoid automatic car washes with brushes; they will scratch and lift the edges of the vinyl. Also, never use wax on a matte wrap unless it is specifically designed for matte finishes, or you will end up with a shiny mess.

• Does a wrap hide scratches and dents?

  Vinyl is thin. It will hide minor swirl marks and color imperfections, but it will not hide deep scratches, rock chips, or dents. If you run your fingernail over a scratch and it catches, it will show through the vinyl. Think of a wrap like a tight t-shirt; it shows the shape of what is underneath.   It varies based on the size of the vehicle, the type of material (chrome is more expensive than gloss black), and the complexity of the body curves.
