Giving every adoptable pet a second chance in a loving home since 1902.
The Humane Society of Scott County is a non-profit, open admission animal shelter in Scott County, Iowa. We serve Davenport, Bettendorf, and other cities in Scott County primarily, but we also adopt out and provide services to anyone in the Quad Cities area and beyond!
For over a century, the Humane Society of Scott County has been a cornerstone of our community, making it a better place for both people and pets. While our mission has evolved to meet changing needs, one thing has remained constant—we are unwavering advocates for those who cannot help themselves.
As the only open-intake shelter in Scott County, we are a lifeline for animals with nowhere else to go—regardless of age, health, breed, or behavior. Without us, lost, abandoned, and at-risk pets would have no safe haven. But our work goes beyond sheltering animals—we are deeply committed to helping the people. Being a resource to pet owners allows us to do what’s best for animals and their people too.
That’s why we provide essential resources to help keep pets in the homes that love them. From low-cost vaccine and microchip clinics to our free pet food pantry, we’re here to support both animals and the people who care for them. Because at the Humane Society of Scott County, we believe that when pets and people thrive together, the entire community benefits.
