Frequently Asked Questions

What dental services do you provide at QC Dental Docs?

At QC Dental Docs, we offer comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages. Our services include cleanings, digital imaging, fillings, crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, ClearCorrect® aligners, root canals, TMJ therapy, teeth whitening, emergency dental care, and more.

How often should I come in for a dental cleaning and exam?

We recommend that most patients visit us every six months for cleanings and exams. This helps us prevent cavities, monitor oral health, and detect issues early.

What is laser dentistry and how does it benefit me?

We use the Solea® CO₂ dental laser, which allows us to perform many procedures without the need for needles or drills. It’s virtually painless, reduces bleeding, speeds up healing, and often eliminates the need for anesthesia.

What procedures can be done with the Solea dental laser?

With Solea, we can perform cavity preparations, soft tissue surgeries, frenectomies, and more—all with increased comfort and faster recovery times.

How do you ensure safety during dental X-rays?

We use advanced digital X-ray technology that significantly reduces radiation exposure. Our digital imaging is safe, precise, and part of our commitment to your overall well-being.

What steps do you take to prevent and treat gum disease?

Our team provides thorough periodontal screenings and customized care plans. We offer deep cleanings, laser therapy, and ongoing education to help you maintain healthy gums.

Do you offer cosmetic dental services like whitening and veneers?

Yes. We offer professional in-office teeth whitening, take-home Opalescence Go™ trays, and natural-looking veneers to enhance the appearance of your smile.

What are my options for replacing missing teeth?

We provide multiple solutions including dental crowns, bridges, and full or partial dentures. Each treatment is customized for a secure and natural-looking result.

Do you offer emergency dental care?

Yes. If you’re experiencing a dental emergency such as severe pain, swelling, or a knocked-out tooth, call us immediately at 563-332-2447. We offer same-day appointments when possible.

How do you diagnose and treat TMJ disorders?

We assess jaw function through exams, bite analysis, and digital imaging. Treatments may include custom bite splints, dental adjustments, or restorative solutions depending on your specific condition.

How can I prepare for my first visit?

To streamline your appointment, you can complete new patient forms online before your visit. These include medical history, insurance details, and consent forms.

What insurance and payment options do you accept?

We accept most major insurance providers including Blue Cross, Blue Shield, FEP, and others. Payment options include credit cards, checks, cash, money orders, and CareCredit financing.

How often should I replace my toothbrush?

We recommend replacing your toothbrush every two to three months, or sooner if the bristles become worn or frayed, to maintain proper oral hygiene.

What health and safety protocols do you follow?

We follow strict safety procedures including instrument sterilization, waterline maintenance, proper PPE usage, air filtration, and aerosol mitigation to ensure a safe environment for every visit.
