Sports have become a major part of the quintessential American child’s life. From little league to school sports, most children will have participated in some kind of organized sport by the time they reach college. But what about the kids who were born with special needs that close off those opportunities?

That is what led Cosse and Silmon Orthodontics to launch GOLDEN GOAL in Shreveport. GOLDEN GOAL gives special needs children the opportunity to dress out, take the field with the team, score a goal, and experience the camaraderie of team play. By partnering with local schools and CABOSA, Cosse and Silmon Orthodontics gives those children the chance to join a designated team during a regularly scheduled game in a number of different sports.

The orthodontists launched GOLDEN GOAL in 2016 through their greater "Creating Smile Opportunities" program. The first GOLDEN GOAL partnership was with a local high school soccer team and it drew national news attention.
